WHAT IS ADULT STUDY GROUP?
Hinduism is regarded as an oldest religion and also many times called as Sanatana Dharma. A religion that offers a vast variety of knowledge. Vedanta is the knowledge of the Self which is the most essential knowledge for all human beings.
In the adult study group this knowledge is studied in a very systematic manner. A seeker is made to logically think and analyse the choices of life through discussion with like minded individuals and determine whether they go on to fulfill the ultimate goal of life of eternal happiness. A knowledge can only become part of us when it is thoroughly analyzed.
Today, there are over 1,000 Chinmaya Study Groups worldwide. Inspired by the vision of Vedanta, thousands of spiritual seekers across the world meet in groups to study and discuss Vedantic texts. Setting aside blind beliefs, they discuss scriptural teachings, deepening their personal philosophical understanding.

Swami Chinmayananda’s Self Unfoldment
Self-Unfoldment introduces the fundamentals of Vedanta, the time-tested wisdom that forms the basis of the central spiritual traditions of India. Through the lens of Vedanta, Swami Chinmayananda shows us how to tap the immense power of our inner self and thereby transform our lives. The universal message of Vedanta is that the happiness we are seeking in the external world is actually to be found by turning inward, and this book serves as a manual for commencing that most fulfilling journey.

Swami Tejomayananda’s Tattva Bodha
The human psyche is so composed that most of us, including atheists, at some point of time ask fundamental questions of life. It may begin with 'Why did this happen to me?' Then it goes on to 'Is there God? Who am I? What is the goal of human life? What happens when one dies? Why was the world created? By whom? & How?'
In Tattvabodha, Sri Adi Sankaracharya lovingly answers these and many more such questions and introduces the aspiring student to the basic principles of Vedanta - the science of Life. This preliminary text is presented in the form of a dialogue between the Guru and the disciple.
The disciple asks with genuine eagerness and the Guru answers wtih patience, with depth and with precision. Swami Tejomayananda's commentary on this text is illuminating and answers even unasked doubts of the beginner. His exposition from what it takes to be a seeker to what it takes to make a saint of oneself is masterly.

Swami Chinmayananda’s Meditation and Life
We live in the outer world but prompted from our own within. Unless we master our inner lives, the outer scheme of life, however efficient and perfect, cannot but bring sorrow and unhappiness, says the author.
Swami Chinmayananda, one of the greatest exponents of Vedanta in modern times, takes us through the thought process necessary to gain control of our inner world. He first shows us the logic behind meditation and then teaches us the specific techniques for applying meditative practice in our daily lives. When meditation becomes a natural part of our day, we find our lives transformed and our minds at peace.

Atma Bodha
Vedanta is the science of life. It shows us the gateway to peace and happiness. To understand this subtle science, knowledge of certain terms and concepts is mandatory. That is why we have Prakarana-Granthas or introductory books which explain the definitions of the special terms used in our sastras. Bhagavan Sankaracharya's Atmabodha is one such text. It is a scientific journey throwing light on the subtle concepts present in our sastras. With striking examples and ingenious poetry, he guides the reader along the path of Vedanta terminology.
Pujya Swami Chinmayananda in his commentary effortlessly presents to the common man the timelss wisdom of Sankaracharya. Reflecting on these verses will uplift the mind and elevate the soul. A great guide for beginners and a meditation prop for advanced seekers.
