Bhagavad Gita Chanting

Our Pujya Gurudev Swami Chinmayananda worked tirelessly for 40 years to propagate the message of the Bhagavad Geeta.  Pujya Gurudev said that the Bhagavad Geeta is the “handbook for everyday living”. In order to bring this philosophy into children’s lives, the Bhagavad Geeta Chanting competition was created.

Pujya Guruji Swami Tejomayananda explains the grand vision behind this project as “Chant – Study – Know- Live. Chanting introduces one to such a noble text. This kindles the curiosity to know more about the meaning and the contents. This in turn, leads to study. The knowledge gained thereby is translated into actions and thus becomes a way of life.”

Chinmaya Mission West has chosen Chapter 4 of the Bhagavad gita to chant this year. Chanting audio and lyrics can also be found on the link below. Competition details will be shared with you in due time. It will be conducted by our Badri Center in two parts, first one in Dec and a second one in April with a National Competition in July 2024 in Chicago.

All the verses are in the Children’s Folders and we will be having chanting classes every sunday. Adults are encouraged to participate as well. Please note that these classes are complementary and will be seperate from Bala Vihar. The sevak’s are committing their time voluntarily; please be regular, sincere and prompt.
